A body has been found in the grounds of an agriculture college in Antrim.

A body has been found in the grounds of an agriculture college in Antrim.

Police have sealed off an area of the Greenmount campus in Antrim after the find was made at around 2.30 p.m.

As detectives launched an investigation the PSNI could not confirm whether the body was that of a man or woman.

Police believe the body may have lain in shrubbery in Greenmount Road, close to the now vacant Deerpark Hotel, for months.

Checks have been made with the college to find out if any students had gone missing. One member of staff said none of those studying there had failed to show for classes.
