Body found in Co Tipperary river identified

The body of a man recovered from a river in Tipperary this morning has been identified as Alan Jones (52).

The father of two, who was living in Celbridge, had been reported missing near the village of Toomevara yesterday evening.

The alarm was raised yesterday evening when he failed to return from game shooting. His car was found near Clooncannon, near Toomevara last night.

A Garda spokesman said that the body was found at about 9.00 a.m. in shallow water alongside the Allatrim River, near the village of Toomevara between Roscrea and Nenagh.
