The body of missing schoolboy Paul McKenny was recovered from the River Dee in Co Louth yesterday exactly three weeks after he failed to return home from school.
The Garda began a search of the river for the six-year-old that evening after another child told them she saw a boy in the river near a pedestrian bridge.
A unit of the Boyne Fishermen's River Rescue found the body at lunchtime yesterday. It was removed to the Louth County Hospital in Dundalk where a post-mortem will be carried out this morning.
