Sligo Rovers 1 Bohemians 1:Bohemians afforded Shamrock Rovers a touch more breathing space at the top of the Airtricity League Premier Division as they allowed a winning position slip away at the Showgrounds.
Having taken the lead through a sublime Mark Quigley free kick, Pat Fenlon’s side were unable to keep the home side at bay and Rovers grabbed a deserved equaliser through John Russell early in the second half.
The result leaves Bohs three points adrift of Shamrock Rovers as the race for the title enters the home straight. The Hoops, who have a game in hand, face Galway at the Tallaght Stadium on Friday night.
Sligo and Bohemians, meanwhile, will meet again on Friday, October 15th after details of the FAI Cup semi-finals were confirmed.
The all-Dublin meeting of Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic has been pencilled in for Sunday, October 17th. Both matches will be broadcast live on RTE Two.
