The four Bohemians supporters jailed for rioting before Tuesday's League Cup final have received life bans from the club.
The men vandalised the Tavern Bar in Derry prior to the match and received three-month prison terms yesterday.
Evan Kane (20), from Upper Dorset Street, was convicted of riotous behaviour, and Francis O'Reilly (29), from Clonturk Park; Brian Shannon (20), from Ventry Drive, Cabra, and Gavin James Hanly (22), of McKee Park, all Dublin, were all convicted of riotous behaviour and criminal damage.
The board of Bohemians FC today condemned the actions of the four men and welcomed the jail sentences.
Club president Gerry Cuffe said: "We are sure we speak . . . for all genuine fans and reflect the deep sense of anger felt within the club by condemning totally this mindless minority."
He said the club has invested "significant resources" to remove troublemakers from their home ground, Dalymount Park, in Phibsboro.
Some of those involved in the Derry incident were already banned from Dalymount Park. Bohemians are introducing measures to prevent known troublemakers attending matches at away venues. To date, 20 people have received permanent bans from home games.
The four men convicted in Derry were not among the official party of 300 who travelled via coach, the club said.
Some 600 Bohemians fans travelled north for the Brandywell game, which the Dublin club lost 1-0 to Derry City.
"Violent behaviour is an increasing problem within society in general and sporting clubs . . . the assumed attachment to our club and other bodies and events as a flag of convenience to mask reprehensible activities indicates the mindset society is dealing with in these instances," the club said.
The club, owned by its members, has vowed to assist the authorities to "stamp out the type of behaviour witnessed in Derry".
