BATE Borisov 1 Bohemians 0
BATE Borisov condemned Bohemians to a 1-0 first leg defeat in their opening UEFA Champions League qualifier in Belarus this afternoon.
Despite some heavy rain and the distraction of a thunderstorm the game was given the go ahead by the Polish officials after some deliberation but conditions were not long in playing their part and were instrumental in Stephen Kenny's side conceding what was to be the winner.
A 24th minute strike from Evgeny Loshankov was not particularly fiercely struck but Matt Gregg in the Bohs goal was unable to hang on to it after getting down low and let it slip under his body into the goal.
