Bank of Ireland Group has donated £250,000 towards the cost of the new Millennium Wing in the National Gallery of Ireland.
To recognise the contribution the gallery is naming one of the Italian rooms in the Milltown Wing, which at present displays Caravaggio and his followers, in the bank's honour.
The 44,000 sq ft Millennium Wing in Clare Street, adjacent to the gallery on Merrion Square, is expected to be completed in autumn 2000 at a cost of some £19.5 million.
