A bomb exploded in a US fast-food restaurant in northern Lebanon injuring at least one person, sources have said.
They said the 1.5-kilogramme bomb, planted outside a KFC restaurant in the port city of Tripoli, had heavily damaged the interior and shattered the windows of nearby shops and homes.
A security guard at the restaurant, suffered light head injuries, security sources said. They did not know the motive for the attack.
Anger at the United States, Israel's main backer, rose among the Lebanese during Israel’s month-long military offensive against Palestinian areas.
A campaign to boycott US products and companies has gathered momentum since the start of the assault, and pro-Palestinian groups have staged sit-ins outside US chain restaurants.
