Five mortar bombs exploded in the Somali capital Mogadishu today, killing at least three people.
At one house, a man and his son died, while his wife and daughter were injured, and another woman was killed elsewhere, according to witnesses.
Violence has mounted in Somalia since the interim government's forces, backed by the Ethiopian military, ousted an Islamist movement in a two-week war over the New Year.
There have been almost daily gun, grenade and mortar attacks, most of them in the capital.

Yesterday, an explosion in southern port of Kismayu killed at least four people and wounded about 25 others.
The interim government has blamed the violence on hardline Islamists and foreign militants.
