Preparation of a book of evidence against a 75-year-old priest accused of 76 indecent assault offences is at an advanced stage, a court was told yesterday.
The summonses against the priest, which allege indecent assaults on females in the midlands between 1956 and 1961, were adjourned by Judge Thomas O'Donnell to March 19th next for service of the book of evidence. The judge consented to a defence application requesting the removal of identification of the defendant as a Roman Catholic priest from the summonses.
