A new book celebrating 10 years of the internationally renowned Immrama festival of travel writing will be launched at this year’s event, starting on Thursday.

The heritage town of Lismore, Co Waterford, is set to benefit from a direct economic boost from the festival. It runs from June 7th to June 10th and will help to raise awareness of the area among year-round visitors.

First held in 2003 and taking its name from an old Irish word for “journey”, the festival has grown steadily over the last decade.

Now, to mark its 10th staging, a book is being published containing contributions about Lismore from writers who have previously spoken at Immrama.
