A Bosnian Serb high-school student shot dead one teacher and wounded another before killing himself today, police said.
It followed a massacre in a German school last Friday when a former pupil gunned down 16 teachers and pupils before killing himself.
The Bosnian (17) killed history teacher, Stanimir Reljic, with a 7.65 mm firearm in front of the school in the eastern town Vlasenica with a shot to the head. He then walked into a classroom and shot and wounded a mathematics teacher, police said.
No more details were given but police said an investigation was underway.
The Bosnian student, named as Dragoslav Petkovic, shot himself in the head and died. The mathematics teacher, Ms Saveta Mojsilovic, suffered neck injuries but her life was not in danger.
School officials contacted by telephone said they could not comment on the incident.
Vlasenica, a small and impoverished town, lies some 50 kms northeast of the capital Sarajevo. It is located in the Serb republic, which forms Bosnia together with a Muslim Croat federation after the 1992-95 war.
