Passengers on Flight EI 133 en route to Boston were stranded at Dublin Airport yesterday for up to 10 hours. The flight, which was scheduled to leave Dublin at 11.30 a.m. and to pick up passengers at Shannon Airport, remained on the tarmac all day. Shannon passengers were flown to Dublin to minimise delay in the event of takeoff.
A spokesman for Aer Lingus said the hold-up was "due to a technical delay which had to be sorted out".
The flight eventually took off shortly before 10 p.m.
