The State's 6,000 rural publicans are concerned with the mountains of non-returnable bottles accumulating on their premises. They are anxious that the waste glass be recycled because of the impact on the environment. This will be one of the issues addressed when 500 delegates attend the 28th annual conference of the Vintners' Federation of Ireland which gets under way in Westport, Co Mayo, today.
