A major boulevard or high street stretching on an east-west axis from Coolock to Baldoyle is envisaged as part of a Dublin Corporation action plan for the "north fringe" of Dublin city, writes Frank McDonald, Environment Editor.
The plan, which goes on public exhibition today for a month, also proposes a series of urban squares along the new boulevard, including a major square at a new DART station north of Baldoyle.
The Labour TD, Mr Tommy Broughan, said there was "deep concern" locally about the "astonishing" 7,000 new homes proposed for an area no larger than Donaghmede.
