Boy (12) dies after being hit by car in Dublin

A 12-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a car in Coolock, Dublin, yesterday evening.

A 12-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a car in Coolock, Dublin, yesterday evening.

Gardaí from Coolock are investigating the incident, which happened at around 4.50pm on the N32 running from the M50/M1 intersection to the Malahide Road.

Earlier yesterday, a man in his 30s died shortly after 9am after a crash between a lorry, jeep and a car at Fennor Cross, Duleek, Co Meath.

So far this year 383 people have died on the State's roads. With two weeks still left in 2005, road deaths are already at nine more than the total for 2004.
