A court in Belfast has been told a 15-year-old boy was caught on PSNI video smashing paving stones for use as missiles in the Ardoyne riots on July 12 th.

The boy, who cannot be named, is accused with riotous assembly during and after an Orange march through the area.

According to the prosecution, the boy was recorded throwing at least six missiles at police lines.

Dozens of police officers were injured during the rioting by republicans, some seriously.

The boy was granted bail today, but was banned from taking part in any further public demonstrations and ordered to stay away from the Ardoyne shopfronts.

Another boy aged 14 and a 22-year-old man have already been charged with riotous assembly and the PSNI are expected to bring charges against a number of other people after they study video footage.
