A boy (17) has been charged with the murder of another teenager in Dublin last May.

A boy (17) has been charged with the murder of another teenager in Dublin last May.

The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, appeared at Dublin Children's Court today charged with killing Seán Nolan (18), Griffith Court, Fairview, on May 26th.

Mr Nolan was on a night out with friends to celebrate finishing school when he was fatally stabbed on Waterloo Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

The court heard the accused had nothing to say when charged at Donnybrook Garda Station.

The court heard that an earlier charge of assault causing harm to Mr Nolan was to be withdrawn. Another charge of possession of knives, namely a 10-inch bread knife and a six-inch kitchen knife, will proceed.

The accused had been subject to a number of strict bail conditions since his first court appearance in June.

Judge Ann Ryan remanded him in custody for a week.
