A 12-year-old boy was knocked down and killed in a road accident in Galway this afternoon.
The boy was cycling on the Headford Road when he was struck by a truck at Grange, Corrandulla.
The boy received fatal injuries in the accident, which occured at around 4.30 this afternoon.
The driver of the truck was injured when his truck overturned as he tried to avoid the boy.
