Police in Co Armagh have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 15year-old schoolboy was discovered at a house in Bessbrook.

The RUC were called to a house on Green Road in the town shortly after 10.30 p.m. on Sunday night, where they found the body of Francis Pollock. A 16-year-old boy is to appear at Armagh Magistrates Court today charged with his murder.

As inquiries continued into the Bessbrook killing, detectives were investigating re ports that a row developed between two youths who were attending a party at the house. A post-mortem was carried out yesterday to determine the cause of the teenager's death.

The Ulster Unionist Assembly member for the area, Mr Danny Kennedy, said: "It's very sad that a young life has been lost in such tragic circumstances. I would wish to extend my sympathy to the boy's family."

There have been six non-paramilitary murders in the North this year.

In a separate incident, police were investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a house in Donaghcloney, Co Down, around 7.30 p.m. on Sunday.

However, they said yesterday they were satisfied the woman, in her 60s, had died of natural causes.
