Seán Boylan will take charge of the Ireland team for a third time in next year's International Rules series. Boylan presided over Ireland's 102-97 aggregate win against the Australians last month and has again been handed the responsibility for the two tests next year.
Boylan was also in charge for the controversial series in 2006. His reappointment was confirmed at a meeting of the GAA's Central Council this afternoon.
The meeting addressed the thorny issue of AFL clubs continuing to recruit Irish players and the GAA announced that talks are continuing with their Australian counterparts.
It was also announced that there will be no designated teams in the first round of next year's football qualifiers series and that the first team drawn in each tie would be entitled to home venue.
