BP acts against Greenpeace

London - British Petroleum last night began legal moves to recover £1

London - British Petroleum last night began legal moves to recover £1.4 million in damages from Greenpeace for its week-long occupation of the Stena Dee oil installation.

The oil giant successfully applied for a "schedule of arrestment" at the Court of Sessions in Edinburgh which named the environmental pressure group and four individual members including two senior directors.

BP is claiming damages for losses run up during the protest on its drilling platform, targeted by activists as it headed to explore new oil fields in waters off the west coast of Scotland. - (PA)
