A Brazilian resident of Gort, south Galway, who bought a winning ticket in the Euro Millions lottery plans to return home to start his own business.
Ivanilda Duarte (37), a truck driver and father of four children, won €116,406 in last weekend's draw. He was one of four people in Ireland who held match five tickets. Many of Gort's Brazilian community came out to greet him last night when he returned home with his winning cheque, accompanied by his wife, Selma.
The couple's two children, who were born in Ireland, live with their parents in Gort, while their two older children, aged 10 and 12, live with their grandmother in Radiolandia, Brazil.
The couple intend to return home to live with all four children, and set up a trucking business.
