Accompanied by his wife, Lotte Knudsen, and Andrew Staunton, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy, Mr King said: “Few relationships are as richly textured, deeply rooted, and multi faceted as that between our two countries."

"Few relationships have as much potential. Grounded in mutual respect; with the shared commitment of our governments to tackle problems together, and the shared ambition to build a strong, modern partnership, reflecting the experience and aspirations of our peoples."

"I very much look forward to doing all I can to underpin that strong, modern relationship, between our two countries, as partners in Europe and beyond.”
