British police were searching on Saturday for a 14-year-old schoolgirl they believe has run off with a middle-aged man.
Detectives said Stacey Marie Champ was last seen at home on Thursday and is thought to be with 46-year-old David Milner.
The pair, from Gillingham in Kent, first met through the girl's mother nearly two years ago and police say they have become close.
"Concerns have been raised about the relationship between Stacey and Mr Milner," Kent Police inspector Richard Watson told a news conference, adding that a large amount of cash had been drawn out of Milner's bank account.
Stacey is 5 ft 3 ins tall, with long brown hair and was wearing jeans, white trainers and a blue baseball cap. Milner was described as 5 ft 8 ins, with dark hair and black-rimmed glasses. He was last seen on Thursday driving a white Ford Escort van, bearing the name Beach Communications.
The girl's mother made an emotional appeal for her to return home. "Please just come home, I just want you home," Angela Champ told the news conference. "You are not in any trouble - I love you and I miss you.
