Afghan police have arrested a Briton who allegedly killed two Afghans during a shoot-out at a hotel in the capital, Kabul.
An unidentified American was also reportedly injured in the exchange of fire at the Intercontinental Hotel.
The shoot-out was sparked by a "conflict of interest concerning a commercial dealing," according to an Afghan TV report.
There was no immediate information about the business dealing. The report said only that an unidentified British man was detained and a police investigation was underway.
A Western diplomat also said that Afghan police took a British man into custody. He said he was not aware that any Americans had been wounded.
Afghan police said that a Briton - identified as a bodyguard of an American man and his Afghan wife - was wounded in the clash.
Ms Katherine Brooker, a British Embassy spokeswoman, said officials were looking into the report.
