GAA: All-Ireland winners Alan Brogan and Stephen Cluxton have been shortlisted for the GAA/GPA Opel All-Star Footballer of the Year award along with Kerry's Darran O'Sullivan.
Dublin will be seeking back-to-back winners after their last-gasp final win over Kerry last month, in which goalkeeper and newly-named International Rules captain Cluxton kicked the vital point seconds from time.
Were Alan to win it, however, it would cap a remarkable couple of years for the Brogan household after his brother Bernard picked up the 2010 award.
Another Dub, James McCarthy is nominated for Young Footballer of the Year along with Mayo’s Cillian O’Connor and Donegal’s Mark McHugh.
Kilkenny’s Michael Fennelly and Tommy Walsh are nominated for the hurling award after their All-Ireland win over deposed champions Tipperary, for whom Pádraic Maher is included.
Dublin’s Liam Rushe, Limerick’s Declan Hannon and Waterford’s Pauric Mahony are in the running for the young players’ award.
