Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce has confirmed he is chasing former Celtic and Nottingham Forest striker Pierre van Hooijdonk.
Bruce told the BBC: "It's definitely not true to say we have done a deal for Van Hooijdonk, but it is fair to say that there has been an interest there".
Van Hooijdonk has a year to run on his current contract with 2002 UEFA Cup champions Feyenoord but is known to fancy a move to the Premiership.
Elsewhere, Bruce is confident of securing the signature of Blackburn Rovers's David Dunn.
The England international has had personal differences with Graeme Souness, his boss at Ewood Park, and is expected to sign for about £5.5 million.
"The two clubs are still talking, and there is still a little bit of work to be done, but we are hopeful. David would obviously be a quality signing for us," said Bruce.
