BT's Irish operation reported a strong performance in the six months to September 30 thwith turnover growing 27 per cent from €173 million to €220 million compared with the same period last year.
The company reported double digit revenue growth across all of its business segments and strong order intake for the half year.
BT Ireland's chief executive, Danny McLaughlin, said the company is seeing excellent growth in corporate and wholesale revenues.
BT Ireland has been expanding its services away from fixed line business and into growth areas such as LAN, IP telephony, wireless networking and security.
Last week BT Ireland acquired network service provider Cara.
The company also signed a number of significant Wi-Fi deals such as the Ramada Hotel Group and Drogheda Chamber of Commerce and now has the largest managed Wi-Fi network on the island of Ireland.
Key business contracts secured by the company over the half year include Acorn Life, Bank of Scotland (Ireland), Budget Travel and Cork County Council.

BT said today that total earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell to £1.348 billion ($2.34 billion) for the three months to September 30th from $1.41 billion in the same period a year earlier.
But underlying earnings per share increased by a better-than-expected 4 per cent to five pence, on revenues that rose 5 per cent on the back of a 39 per cent rise in "new wave" areas such as broadband Internet and networking services.
BT stock, up nearly 6 per cent since the start of the year, has outperformed its European sector peers some 6 per cent so far in 2005. BT, which is increasingly reliant on new wave activities to counter a declining fixed-line business, said its traditional business continues to operate in a challenging environment.
Group revenues rose to £4.82 billion, of which £1.44 billion was accounted for by its new wave business.
