Bula Resources has appointed Mr Tom Kelly as its chief executive. Subject to shareholder approval, to be sought at the forthcoming AGM,Mr Kelly will also be appointed to the board of Bula as managing director.
Bula also said Mr Patrick Gillen has been co-opted to the board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Bula’schairman, Mr Albert Reynolds said "Tom has been working for the company for the last two months as a consultant, and has shown himself to be capable and determined with over 24 years experience in the oil industry and with the required skills to deliver strong leadership to the company".
Mr Kelly’s appointment as chief executive follows the surprise resignation in January of Mr John Hogan as chief executive after only six months in the job.
Mr Kelly is a graduate of UCD andNUIG and joined Shell as a geophysicist in 1976. His career in Shell spanned 24 years, which included postings in the Middle East, West Africa, Far East and South America.
