Ireland under-21 soccer international Desmond Byrne has pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting a nightclub doorman in London.

The 20-year-old defender who plays for Wimbledon is charged along with Chelsea stars Jody Morris (23) and John Terry (21) with causing actual bodily harm and affray.

The charges followed an alleged incident at the private members' Wellington Club in central London on January 4.

The conditions of the bail state the players msut reside at their present home address, not go within half a mile of the Wellington Club in Knightsbridge, and not have any contact or interfere with witnesses for the prosecution.

Mr Davies told them that he would remand them on bail until February 20th, when committal proceedings would take place.
