The body of missing Kilkenny man Stephen Byrne was in the water for about three weeks before being discovered by fishermen on Monday, according to a Welsh coroner. Mr Michael Howell, coroner for Pembrokeshire, said that Mr Byrne died from drowning.
The 41-year-old man went missing after his wife, Maeve, was stabbed to death at their home at Cuffesgrange. He then drove the family car off the pier at Duncannon, Co Wexford, with sons Alan (10) and Shane (6) in the back. Their bodies were found a few days later near Hook Head.
Pembrokeshire police are to release the body this morning. It will be flown to the Republic later today.
