Tbilisi - Georgia's Communist Party yesterday adopted a resolution demanding the rehabilitation of Stalin, claiming the Soviet dictator had been the victim of "lies" by enemies of the Soviet Union.
The Georgian Communist Party's general secretary, Mr Panteleimon Georgadze, also bitterly attacked the 20th Party congress in 1956, which three years after the dictator's death denounced the personality cult built up around Stalin, responsible for the deaths of millions of Soviet people.
