Cameroon revealed this morning they are worried striker Patrick Mboma may not be fit enough to travel to Japan.
Mboma (31) began his international career late but has hit 13 goals in 17 appearances for his country, and was Cameroon's top scorer during January's triumphant African Nations Cup campaign.
However, Cameroon's team doctor, Olivier Assamba, said: "We cannot say with any certainty whether he will be in the squad or not.
"He feels pain around the heels each time he wants to take a shot or when he changes direction sharply while running. We will continue to watch him and see how he improves over time."
