Sol Campbell today confirmed that he is to leave Tottenham when his contract expires on June 30th.

Europe's top clubs - believed to include Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan - are lining up to tempt the powerful centre-half into their ranks.

"This has been the hardest decision of my football career," Campbell said.

"My decision has been a prolonged one, this is because I wanted to give the club every opportunity to have input into my future."

Spurs are angry that despite offering to break the bank to hang onto Campbell, he has decided to move elsewhere.

His demands would have worked out at around stg£130,000 a week and a statement from White Hart Lane today insisted: "There was no room for flexibility in his demands."

Furthermore, Campbell wanted a clause inserted in his contract whereby he would have been allowed to walk away from the club on a free transfer had Spurs not qualified for the Champions League at the end of next season.
