A cannabis farm has been uncovered by police in a house in the university area of south Belfast.
Hundreds of carefully tended cannabis plants were discovered growing in the house in Fitzroy Avenue. The street value of the drug was put at around £250,000 (€360,000), said a PSNI spokeswoman.
Chief Inspector Raymond Ramsey from South Belfast, said: "This seizure is proof of our determination to take these drugs off the streets. We want the public to realize that if they are engaged in any way in the drugs trade, they will face a very high risk of being caught and prosecuted."
He added: "The message is that we are determined that these drugs will not reach our streets. Anyone who has any knowledge about the sale, supply or misuse of drugs should contact police."
There were no arrests when the drugs were found.
