Three men are being questioned by gardaí in Co Kilkenny after the discovery of what gardaí described as two cannabis grow-houses.

They were arrested following an operation involving the Garda National Drugs Unit, gardaí from the Kilkenny Division and regional support units last night.

Gardaí said a search was carried out at double warehouse in Kildalton, Piltown. During the search, two cannabis grow-houses were discovered, a Garda spokesman said.

Cannabis plants at various stages of growth and herbal cannabis with a combined estimated street value of €3 million  were seized.

The three men, all in their 30s, were arrested at the scene and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Thomastown and Kilkenny Garda stations.
