Racing: Captain Dunne (13-2) prevailed in a thrilling Investec Entrepreneurial Class 'Dash' Handicap at Epsom.

Trained by Tim Easterby, the topweight was always to the fore in second time cheekpieces under David Allan and grabbed the stands side rail from La Fortunata with over a furlong to go.

Mike Murphy's filly came back for another crack at the six year old as half a dozen flashed home in the fastest five furlongs in the country to force a photo for the places but Captain Dunne, who had finished second in a Longchamp Group Three last time, prevailed by a neck and a short-head.

Confessional was eventually called home in second to record a famous one-two for Easterby with La Fortunata a game third from Sohraab who ran a blinder from an unfavourably low draw in fourth.

Fanunalter (16-1) flashed home under Adam Kirby to win the Investec Diomed Stakes. Marco Botti's five-year-old was always travelling well but had to thread his way through a wall of horses inside the final furlong.

Kirby eventually got a nice split towards the rail and pushed his mount out to win by half a length from St Moritz (9-2).

Rio De La Plata (7-2) held on for third under Frankie Dettori while 15-8 favourite Premio Loco could never land a blow under George Baker.

Charles Camoin (10-1) won the Investec Horses Help The Heroes Handicap, the opening race on Derby day, after a thrilling finish.

Sylvester Kirk won the contest two years ago with River Captain and he saddled the winner again thanks to a finely-judged ride from Liam Keniry who got up in the shadows of the post.

Eddie Ahern looked to have timed his challenge to perfection on Trojan Nights (6-1) but had to settle for second as the winner got up on his outside to prevail by a short head.

Boogie Shoes, the 9-4 favourite, was three quarters of a length further back in third.

Mark Johnston's Fulbright (3-1) won the Listed Investec Woodcote Stakes.

Ridden by Silvestre de Sousa, the Exceed And Excel colt broke smartly and helped to force the pace with the filly On The Dark Side.

On The Dark Side ran around a little on the cambers and gave the winner a bump or two as she drifted to her right but it didn't stop the momentum of de Sousa's mount who ran out an emphatic winner.

On The Dark Side wilted late on to be caught for second by Evervescent with the first three throughout the race itself the first three home.

Caspar Netscher did best of those that tried to come from off the pace in making late gains for fourth whilst Kieren Fallon's mount, Norse Gold, raced too keenly early on and paid the price for that in the closing stages.
