Labour court proposals to end an eight-week dispute at the National Car Testing Service have been rejected by the workers, who voted by four to one to continue the strike.
SIPTU national industrial secretary, Mr John Kane, said the only significant concession was to apply the £350-a-week Dublin rate to provincial centres on a phased basis. At present provincial workers earn £313 a week.
A company spokeswoman said the firm regretted the ballot result.
