THE US: The leader of the Roman Catholic archdiocese at the centre of a child sex abuse scandal may face criminal charges for his handling of priests accused of raping and molesting children, Boston newspapers reported yesterday.
Massachusetts Attorney General Mr Tom Reilly has convened a grand jury to decide whether there is enough evidence to charge Boston Cardinal Bernard Law and other high-ranking archdiocesan officials for their actions in the scandal, the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald said. Mr Reilly declined to confirm or deny the reports.
