Hundreds of people caring for incapacitated relatives at home took part yesterday in the first national rally by the Carers Association, in advance of the Budget. Mr Eddie Collins-Hughes, the association's director, said only 11,000 of the estimated 100,000 carers in the Republic were in receipt of an allowance.
