John Carew's agent said today he has yet to speak to Peter Reid after the Sunderland manager expressed an interest in signing the Norwegian international.
Carew almost joined Fulham last week, but the deal fell through when he failed a medical.
Reid has since claimed Carew, who plays for Spanish side Valencia, is a player he is interested in. "I have made an enquiry and the situation is ongoing at the moment," said Reid.
However, Carew's agent, Per Arne Flod, told Sky Sports News: "I have not been talking to Peter Reid yet. I think it's mainly rumour but Valencia have said to me Sunderland could be interested in him.
