A Co Carlow dentist has made a settlement of over €1.7 million with the Revenue Commissioners arising from the underdeclaration of income tax.
Dr James Madden of Ballylennon House, Palatine, Co Carlow, features on the latest quarterly list of tax defaulters, published this afternoon by the Revenue Commissioners.
The owners of the now defunct POD nightclub in Dublin made a settlement of €479,211 arising from the underdeclaration of VAT. The company was behind well-known Dublin music venues Tripod and Crawdaddy,
which shut down last month.
Property developers George and Ruth Raymond of Rustica, Upper Kindlestown, Delgany, Co Wicklow, made a settlement of €890,641.60 also arising from the underdeclaration of VAT.
James Brooke Tyrrell, of Church Gate, Church Road, Greystones, Co Wicklow, a former assistant manager at áas, who was last year jailed for four years for defrauding the State training and employment agency, has been ordered to make a settlement of €724,682 with Revenue.
Described in the tax defaulters list as a video production service supplier, he was investigated for underdeclaration of income tax and VAT.
John R Lynch, a solicitor with an address at Upper Mount Street in Dublin, made a settlement of €630,000 arising from the underdeclaration of income tax, VAT and capital gains tax.
Today’s list, which covered the three months to the end of December, included 90 settlements with a total value of €14.96 million.
Some 43 settlements were for amounts exceeding €100,000 of which six exceeded €500,000 and one exceeded €1 million.
