WHEN Patricia Quinn moved to Merrion Square for the big job at the Arts Council she left a pack of arts administrators jockeying for her newly vacated job in Temple Bar. Needless to say there was as much speculation in arts circles about who would finally be appointed as there has been about who is heading for the comfy swivel chair as boss in RTE.

After a round of gruelling interviews, Una Carmody finally bagged the job as artistic and cultural manager in Temple Bar. The 34-year-old has been working in the organisation for the past three years and gave everyone an idea how much fun: the cultural spaces in Temple Bar could be when she organised the summer schedule, which included open-air concerts and, better still, open-air movies.
