Down football manager Ross Carr is set to miss the county's opening match of the Ulster Championship against Tyrone after picking up a ban for his comments made towards the referee after last Saturday's defeat by Fermanagh.
The GAA's Central Competitions Committee met on Monday night and proposed an eight-week ban
As it stands he is will miss Down's opening match of the Ulster Championship against Tyrone on Sunday, June 8th. Carr will now consider his options, whether to lodge an appeal or accept the suspension.
Diarmuid Cahill confirmed the matter would be discussed by the manager and the county's Management Committee at tonight's meeting of the Down County Board.
