Detectives are today attempting to track down the owners of four cars after a man with republican links was shot dead.
Seamus McMahon (41) was murdered at a house he was visiting in Dundalk, Co Louth, last Sunday night. He was married with a teenage son.
Gardaí appealed again for anyone who was near the Bellewsbridge Road entrance to the Saltown Estate between 6pm and 7pm that night to come forward. It is believed three men were involved in the killing.
Detectives said they want to locate a number of cars they believe were in the Saltown area: a white Toyota Corolla hatchback, a blue/green Ford Focus hatchback, a silver Peugeot, and a silver or white estate car, similar to an Opel Astra/Vectra.
Officers said they want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything or anyone acting suspiciously in the area. The Garda Confidential Line can be contacted on 1-800-666-111.
