The case of a schoolboy (17), who was found with a drug-making laboratory in his bedroom, has been adjourned in the Children's Court pending intervention from the Probation and Welfare Services.
Judge Peter Smithwick said yesterday that the services were seeking an adjournment to allow them put in place a plan to help the teenager, who had no previous convictions.
He adjourned the case until September for a probation report on the boy, who was 16 at the time of the offence. He had been arrested after gardaí received information about the sale of drugs in a north Dublin secondary school.
His home was searched leading to the discovery of the laboratory and drug-dealing accounts.
Six packets of cocaine with a street value of €461 and a small amount of cannabis believed to be worth €13 were also found. He had pleaded guilty earlier to two counts of possession of drugs, and also admitted possession of cocaine for sale or supply at his home on December 16th, 2003.
