WASHINGTON - The US has received an unusual peace offering from Dr Fidel Castro: six tons of high-grade Colombian cocaine. Although the freshly-installed Clinton administration has been trying to rebuild relationships with its Cuban neighbour, officials were taken aback by the handover of the narcotics haul, seized from a ship earlier this year.
Mr Wilfredo Fernandez, a spokesman for the US Attorney's Office, welcomed the surprise show of co-operation.
