Several thousand jubilant black-and-amber-clad fans converged on the streets of the Marble City this evening to welcome home their victorious back-to-back senior and minor All-Ireland winners.
A crowd of up to 30,000 lined the route from McDonagh Station to Market Yard as the county's hurlers paraded their latest silverware.
Brian Cody's side arrived by train shortly after 6 p.m. this evening and were driven from McDonagh Station on an open top bus to Market Yard where the Liam McCarthy cup was given a rousing homecoming from the delirious Cats supporters.
Yesterday's win over Cork, by 1-14 to 1-11, sealed successive National League and All-Ireland doubles and brought the county's total of Liam McCarthy wins to 28.
The county's minor hurlers, who also retained their All-Ireland honours at headquarters yesterday, were afforded just as fervent a reception.
