England centre Mike Catt is the biggest name missing from coach Clive Woodward's Six Nations training squad announced today.
Catt inspired Bath to a European Challenge Cup victory over Montauban at the weekend in his comeback match after being out with a persistent hamstring injury for much of this season.
Austin Healey is one of eight players not considered because of injury with Bath flyer Iain Balshaw, Saracens prop David Flatman and Gloucester loosehead the other major casualties.
Harlequins wing Dan Luger and Charlie Hodgson, Jonny Wilkinson's long-time deputy, both return after missing the autumn Twickenham Test triumphs against New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
In the forwards, Bristol prop Julian White is selected despite a 10-week ban for violent conduct earlier this season.
The 27-man squad will meet up for a two-day training session on Monday and Tuesday.
